The Poem of the Day

The Child Who Taught the Elves to Rhyme

A Winter Child Poet Poem

Morning arrived with a soft little yawn,
the workshop stretching in its sleepy glow;
the elves remembered the night before dawn—
the child whose rhymes had danced like snow.

The child returned with a notebook askew,
pages fluttering like they might slip away;
the elves crept closer to listen anew,
their hearts all warmed from yesterday.

“Try light,” the child said. “Maybe something bright.”
Their pencils squeaked like tiny winter mice;
one elf stood up, cheeks rosy with delight,
and whispered, “I lost my mitten… but it still rhymes nice.”

They clapped with mitten-muffled pops of cheer,
each crooked rhyme a small and shining spark;
and laughter drifted through the workshop air,
glowing like lanterns in the early dark.

Mrs. Claus entered with a gentle smile,
a tray of treats she baked with tender care:
“You’ll rhyme much better if you rest a while—
poems grow sweeter when there’s love… and air.”

By twilight, they’d filled a rambling book,
stitched with yarn and dreams in twining rows;
the child said softly, “Here—go on, take a look,”
and every elf read theirs with shining glows.

The Child Who Taught the Elves to Rhyme

Some poems arrive quietly, the way snow settles on a window ledge—soft,
unassuming, full of light. “The Child Who Taught the Elves to Rhyme”
is one of those gentle pieces that doesn’t ask for attention. It simply opens the door,
steps inside with a shy smile, and fills the room with warmth.

This piece continues the thread from yesterday’s story: the child who found their way
to the North Pole with a crooked notebook and a heart full of verses.
But more importantly, it follows the moment when sharing becomes magic—
when a small voice teaches others that poetry is not a performance, but a kindness.

The Heart Behind the Poem

I wanted to capture the instant when a child becomes a teacher without meaning to—
when innocence turns into guidance simply because the heart is open.
The elves do not learn rhyme from rules or structure.
They learn because they are near someone who loves words.

And this is what the Winter Child Poet universe is built on:
the belief that poetry grows wherever sincerity is present.
It doesn’t need perfection.
It needs honesty, wonder, and the warmth of a shared moment.

Mrs. Claus: The Quiet Guardian

Every Winter Child poem carries a soft maternal presence.
Here, Mrs. Claus enters with the kind of warmth only a patient heart holds—
a tray of sweets, a gentle smile, and the understanding that creation needs rest.
She is not a background character; she is the keeper of balance,
the one who reminds the room that joy must be nourished.

Sometimes a child may teach the world how to write,
but it is a grown heart that teaches them how to breathe.Closing Thoughts

This poem is a reminder that the smallest voices often carry the purest truths.
When words are shared with kindness, they become warmth.
And in the world of the Winter Child Poet,
warmth is the one magic that never fades.

Al Konda

The Mythical Poet (Al Konda) is a Romanian-English poet whose work unites form and fire. He writes in rhyme and symbolism, insisting that poetry must sing, speak, structure, symbolize, strike, and bring joy—the pillars of The Konda Principle, his philosophy of the art. Across 40+ books and countless performances, Al has cultivated a living, multimedia poetry: each poem arrives with a literary analysis, an essay for readers, a song or duet, and visual art bearing his sigil.
His mythic epic The Seer – Deluxe Edition rekindles the ancient vocation of the poet as seer; A Name I Never Spoke and Flame Without Shadow explore love, devotion, and inner transformation; ongoing daily releases blend classical poetics with modern production—YouTube premieres, blog essays, and social dialogues that invite audiences to sing the poem.
Al’s stance is clear: craft is not a cage but a sanctuary; beauty is not a costume but a covenant. In an age of noise and spectacle, The Mythical Poet offers disciplined music, moral clarity, and the courage to turn sorrow into song.
